My gloves are not warm enough?Updated 6 months ago

During cold weather, our bodies react to being cold by re-directing our blood supply to our vital organs, and away from our extremities. In order to keep our hands and feet warm it is important to keep the whole body warm and protected.

Our products can be filtered by Climate on the website to suggest the most suitable products for the time of year.

Top Tips

Wear Layers

During the colder months, we naturally layer up with warmer jumpers and coats.

If your hands are feeling cold in your gloves then it may be that they are not thick enough for your needs, just like wearing a lightweight coat in winter.

Our cosy merino glove liners can be added in under any of our waterproof gloves, just like adding in a jumper;

SOLO MERINO LINER GLOVE

Close fitting inner gloves in fine Merino wool for increased comfort. Ideally worn under our range of waterproof gloves to give added insulation.

Warm up your hands first and pull down your sleeves

Make sure that your hands are warm when you first put your gloves on. Pull your sleeves down to minimise any gaps between your gloves and clothing so cold air can't get in.

Get the right fit

Make sure that gloves are not tight on the hands as this may restrict circulation and make hands feel colder. Warm air needs to be able to circulate around your fingers.

Wear a hat

Wearing a hat alongside gloves is one of the best ways to keep warmer overall, as you are keeping more body heat in.

Keep active

Activity generates heat to help the body hands and feet keep warm.
