Sealskinz has manufactured and sold heated gloves for the last nine years.
Over this time, we have learnt that most reported issues of heated gloves not working correctly are down to the batteries not being charged fully before use.
Battery Charging
Our heated gloves are supplied with a USB charger/cable and two batteries.
The first time the gloves are charged, they need to be charged for a full 12 hours to prime and fully charge the batteries.
After the first charge, each additional charge must be for at least 6 hours.
They must be charged for the full 6 hours regardless of the charger LED colour.
The time taken to charge can be affected by the voltage of the plug or device used. The input current for the charger should be 5V, 2A for optimal charging times.
The run times are as follows:
Level 3: 2-2.5 hours
Level 2: 3-3.5 hours
Level 1: 4-4.5 hours
Battery Use
Please ensure that the glove wires are fully and firmly inserted into the battery ports
Magnetic Charging
Please ensure that the magnetic charger is firmly and securely in the cuff ports.
Charge the gloves side by side, not one glove lying on top of another.
